What is Power2X?

Power2X is a pioneering company at the forefront of the global energy transition, dedicated to accelerating the shift towards sustainable energy and feedstock solutions. With a team rich in heritage from leading energy, consulting, engineering, technology, and financial companies and investors, we are uniquely positioned to design, develop, and deliver large-scale projects that decarbonize energy-intensive value chains.

We are on a mission to shape the clean energy transition and drive widespread decarbonization in challenging arenas. We are focused on developing, owning, and operating projects throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring sustainable growth, stability, and impact on an industrial scale. Our recent investment from CPP Investments has granted us a global mandate for expansion, enhancing our execution and technology capabilities, and solidifying our standing within the CPP Sustainable Energies Group.

Power2X is committed to delivering world-class solutions from strategy to operation in all energy-intensive value chains. We realize large-scale next-generation energy assets and infrastructure for industrial decarbonization, participating as both investors and project owners, as well as external advisors. Our project portfolio spans business strategy, M&A support, industry roadmaps, and the development of flagship billion-dollar projects like MadoquaPower2X in Sines, Portugal.

Our work ranges from idea to control room, serving both private and public companies, and selectively engaging with (semi-)government or industry groups. We aim for fundamental, large-scale, and global impact, focusing on decarbonizing molecules through the development of sustainable and low-carbon hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and biofuels. Our projects support large-scale greenfield developments, major industrial site redevelopments, and the decarbonization of large energy-intensive assets, with a main focus on Europe and exporting to Europe.

With a track record of large-scale delivery and management, as showcased by our hydrogen projects ErasmoPower2X and MadoquaPower2X, we have ambitious plans for the future. Our focus on clean hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol is crucial for meeting the growing European and North American demand for green and clean molecules, especially in end-use cases like industrial processes and mobility.

In addition to project development, Power2X operates a consultancy arm, “Power2X Consulting,” covering the full energy project value chain. Our consulting services support the development of green hydrogen, sustainable fuel scale-ups, site redevelopments in major industrial areas, and the decarbonization of energy-intensive assets.
